I had to do that "carry your buddy" thing in basic training and I want to tell you, it's hard. The longest half mile I've ever run. The only thing that keeps you going is the guy you're carrying saying, literally in your ear, "You can do it. Just a little bit more. Keep going."
It's a good thing they get young men to fight wars. We old guys would opt out for a cocktail.
Just so you know, I'm not going to show this to my dog. I can just hear him now, "You see, David, I told you; you see, you see..." He's about the size of the dog in the pic, so let's keep this between us.

What is it with huge dogs that seem to think they're the size of a poodle? I don't know how many Great Danes have sat in my lap...
