A deficit of wonder.

This is what’s wrong with the world. Everything is explained now. We live in an age when you say casually to somebody ‘What’s the story on that?’ and they can run to the computer and tell you within five seconds. That’s fine, but sometimes I’d just as soon continue wondering. We have a deficit of wonder right now.

This so perfectly nails it. Someone always has a phone with them they can check things on now. Good for people over 60 who can't remember the movie they saw last weekend, but on the whole....

We find out news so quickly that the stories aren't verified. We no longer sit and wonder about that butterfly in the garden or how a stock is doing at 2 a.m.

Non-cyber time can be very welcome.
