A velvet fist in an iron glove.
This is day-makingly good!
Those who think “handegg” is too derogatory a name for the sport (and “Handegg” is the name of a famously beautiful place in Switzerland) can understand that “gridiron”, the name by which the sport is known in Australia, makes a lot of sense:- “Grid”: the field is a grid with yardlines at ten-yard intervals- “Iron”: the game is extremely violent with much head-to-head contact. Many of the players never touch the ball but simply block opponents from tackling their teammates, leading to a game that is extremely hard and in many places requires amazingly big and fast men (an average gridiron lineman today weighs 150 kilograms).
