Are We Screwed Already?

Kucinich Asks for New Hampshire Recount in the Interest of Election Integrity. A little earlier in the election cycle this time around, many people are worried about serious discrepancies between pre-election opinion polling and exit polls, which both had Obama winning by a substantial percentage, and the official results. Obama also appears to have won in hand-counted precincts while Clinton seems to have dominated in precincts which counted the votes with the Diebold Accuvote TSx optical-scan machines, which have been shown to be susceptible to a memory card hack. - from metafilter

Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton

Jeb can run in 2016 on the "Hey, I had hurricanes on my watch and Miami's still standing" platform while Chelsea gears up for 2024.

Soooo...

Anyone wanna look at this before the new Royal Families impose a police state?

If we have to wait for every damn recount to come, will Bush ever leave office?

I will say this about exit polling: it's nuts.

Back in college, I worked as an exit pollster, and it was madness. Basically, the pollsters were all like me: nitwit teenagers who thought we were clever because we stayed up late in the dorm talking philosophy, or retirees with nothing better to do. We were all minimally trained.

Then there were the people we were polling. Most of the time they refused to talk to us, and when they did, it was clear all too often that they were scamming us.

Based on what I've read about New Hampshire, exit polling hasn't changed in 27 years.

But, there was one really good thing about being an exit pollster. The cameraderie among the pollsters at the end of the very long, exhausting day combined with excessive amounts of nickel beer meant that even an eighteen-year-old super dork like me got laid.

As for the primary results, I dunno. Probably they're mostly right, and if the recount finds discrepancies, I bet they won't be significant.

One thing Bush can give me (besides that $600 check right before 9/11 with "Go, thou, and buy us out of the recession" stamped on it) is a low dollar.

I want my agent to get me a British, a French, a Japanese, and a Russian deal while the dollar's still in the toilet, and I can go cash in those euros and pounds for much more money.

Oh, and Svetlana? I'm only half a day from Canada. And there dollar's worth US$1.10.

So please pimp me in Toronto before have to inaugurate a higher IQ prez. Because that only will boost the dollar, and frankly, I'm greedy. I want all that foreign money while ours is worthless.
