Solving all your Entomology Mysteries

What's That Bug? will help you figure out what all those weird crawling things are - like the puzzle of my summer which I found out is the Hummingbird Clearwing Moth.

This also drove me to find a page that lays bare all the ology words any word hungry person such as myself would ever want to know. Thank you Wikipedia. But the American Museum of Natural History has an ology page that isn't to be ignored.

Your timing is impeccable. About 3 hours ago I was at a friends house and saw one of these things! Earlier I had seen an actual hummingbird and could not tell if this 'thing' was a little hummingbird or a bug of some sort. I even tried to snap a photo but it apparently wanted no part of posing for me. Damn... excellent timing. Now I won't have to lose sleep tonight. (Off to go read about these things...)

It had really been bugging me all summer. Ha ha ha ha ha ha... yep.

They move incredibly fast and I furrowed my brow a few times because of this moth.
