Jim Martin , former Faith No More guitarist, has played to crowds of thosands, travelled the world and lived a sated rock star existence. But now, in an odd almost Zen-like twist, Martin would rather grow pumpkins.
Freakin' huge pumpkins. These gigantic gourds are grown in Martin's back yard, the Castro Valley.
Martin's 1,087-pound pumpkin won first prize last week in a major Santa Rosa contest that drew competitors from around the state.
