Oscars Tonight

But not in this house. Don't care, won't watch.

And any chance I get to avoid the visage of Joan Rivers is as good as taken. She is a shudder inducer. There but for a lot of money wasted on bad plastic surgery and then the application of far too much make-up and garish costumes go I.

Ray and I won't be watching the Oscars either. You'd think it was due to the fact that our tv reception is miserable or that we are cable-less "freaks" and don't even receive the channel they'll be shown on.

Nope, that's not it at all. We will not be partaking because we just bought the Special Edition of Die Hard with SIX HOURS of extra footage!!! So really - who has the time?

I am, at this very moment, preparing to write a post entitled The Oscars Are Stupid. It's this kind of highbrow writing I am world-renowned for.

six hours of extra stuf on the DIE HARD set???!!!

I am so jealous. And my wife love those movies too.

I may have to go shopping!

Shudder inducer. Jen, you're awesome.

Not sure what my son and I will be doing while not watching the Oscars. I have books, he has PlayStation. Life is good.

I really enjoyed not watching.

The incidental musical alone put me off every year but this year I cared as much about the Oscars as I do about Charles marrying Camila. Which is to say, not a whit.

Now I brace myself for a week of weirdo award fashion shows/magazines and the inevitable round of interviews I need to avoid.

Yawn.

I'll happily admit I watched. This is the first year in a looooooong time that I'd seen all of the movies up for Best Picture. I love movies and everything about them...but man, if I had six hours of extra Die Hard footage it would have been a tough call.
