Ghost Bid Fetches US $65,100.00

The item description on this ebay auction begins by saying, "This is not a joke."

A woman who's five year old son believes his grandfathers ghost haunts their house, has put her grandfather's ghost up for auction.

My 5 year old son believes the ghost of my father haunts our house (which was once my fathers house.) My son knows I sell on ebay and asked me to put my dads ghost up for auction. Since he wants to make sure someone gets the ghost he wants me to put his cane up so he goes with it. Ever since my father died my 5 year old son has been afraid to go anywhere in the house alone whether it be day or night! I always thought it was just normal kid fears until a few months ago he told me why he was so scared. He told me "Grandpa died here, and he was mean. His ghost is still around here!" He then brought up the couple of times my dad tapped him with his cane and how mean his grandpa looked when he yelled at him. So up for auction is my dad's ghost along with his cane he used for getting around and hurt my 5 year olds feelings with. To whoever wins this auction I would like to ask you to write a letter after you've received the cane (and the ghost) to my son letting him know that he's there with you and you're getting along great. I will give details at the end of the auction to the winner.

UPDATE:

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (AP) -- A cane that belonged to a 6-year-old boy's grandfather soon will have a new home -- and, Collin Anderson hopes, so will his grandfather's ghost.

GoldenPalace.com will add the "ghost cane" to a collection that already includes a grilled cheese sandwich said to bear the image of the Virgin Mary. The Antigua-based casino paid $28,000 last month for the sandwich, which it bought -- like the cane -- on eBay.

"It's just the new Americana thing," said Monty Kerr, a spokesman for the online casino that on Monday offered Mary Anderson $65,000 for her father's metal walking cane.

Kerr said the cane -- which Anderson auctioned to ease her son Collin's fears that his grandfather's ghost was haunting their home in Hobart -- likely will go on tour like the famous sandwich.

It might very well be interesting to have a ghost in you house. To see if transfering a ghost with a monetary transaction would work. And if would be nice to help that poor kid out. Who want a mean ghost in there house that is scaring the crap out of someone. Do you give the ghost as a gift to someone you don't like? Do you get a cranky old man ghost to put in your house if you have a cranky old woman ghost?
