From his website:
Wednesday 1 December
I have had some more checks done since the weekend, but so far all have proved inconclusive as to the cause of Saturday's occurrence. More checks will be done later in the week, but I am feeling fine and am fully back at work. As I said earlier in the week, the checks done so far have not indicated any serious health problems.
Why did you stand for parliament?
I have always been interested in political issues and how the political processes can change things for the better. Individuals and the community are affected by decisions taken in politics on such basic well-being matters as medical services, schools and universities, and the environment. I have always wanted to be involved, to try to make a difference.
As a new Labor MP, I am excited by the opportunity of representing the people of Kingsford Smith in the Federal Parliament.
Why the Labor Party?
Labor is the primary party of reform in Australia and anyone who takes seriously the idea that the purpose of politics is to make the conditions of the people better, regardless of their station in life, would consider joining the Labor Party to help fulfil that goal.
Labor values of enhancing community, providing equity of access to health and education, opening up the political and economic system to greater accountability, facing up to the environmental challenges of the new century – these values are right for me, and they are essential for a fairer Australia.
Peter says, "Fairs fair."
